DA allocates P102 M in poor regions
The Department of Agriculture is pouring in P102 million worth of projects in poverty-stricken regions in the country.
Nineteen of the sub-projects under the DA’s Philippine Rural Development Project worth P80 million are aimed at increasing farmers’ and fishers’ income, according to a report by Daily Tribune.
These projects include geonet production and marketing, rice processing and trading, seaweed production and marketing, banana consolidation and marketing, bangus production, and abaca production.
Renato Manantan, officer-in-charge of the DA CARAGA Region, said each proposal went through several assessment and revisions.
The process ensures that once approved, they will deliver outcomes in support of the project’s development objectives.
