Daughter proudly shares dad’s decade-old Taiyaki shop in PH
There is truly nothing sweeter than the love of a father who toils so hard for his family and in this case, for the love of Japanese cakes.
In commemmoration of its 10th year, Facebook user Melanie Trixia shared the story of a decade-old Taiyaki Shop which her father started to introduce the Japanese delicacy in the country.
“My dad’s Japanese cake shop, Taiyaki is turning 10 years today! ?I remember when i asked you, bakit ang mura? (Taiyaki was 8 pesos before). You told me you don’t need to make it expensive kasi gusto mo abot kaya lang ng mga student na konti lang ang baon”, she recalled.
She emphasized that despite numerous offers to have the brand franchised and featured on TV shows, her father rejected them because he has no interest to be on the limelight.
“There’s so many franchise offers and tv shows you rejected, because you never wanted to be rich and famous. All you want is just to live a happy & simple life. I can’t find a word to explain how much I feel.. who would have thought that a 10 pesos japanese cake shop will last for 10years? Im so amazed!!!”, she said on her post.
She also said that amid the several spin-offs of her dad’s Taiyaki, nothing ever tasted as good as her dad’s.
” Nakakatuwa lang na marami ng Taiyaki shops sa pinas, pero ikaw talaga ang first na nag dala sa pinas ng taiyaki!! Im beyond thankful for those who loves my dad’s taiyaki & for those who keeps on supporting us since day one!”, she said.
The post went viral, with over 5 thousand likes and 2 thousand shares as of writing.
The famous original Taiyaki Shop is located at Bayan, Muntinlupa, in front of Caltex Gas Station.
