Coffee shop charges more to rude customers
Barista Austin Simms has had enough of rude customers. Being a coffee shop worker, he understands that most of their clients are always rushing to get their morning fix that they often leave out common courtesies like please and thank you but this doesn’t mean that they should completely forget about them.
This is why he devised a strategy to reward polite customers and remind rude customers o always use the magic words when ordering their cup from his shop.
On a sign, he indicated the new prices for a cup of joe. “Small cup” will cost $5. “Small coffee, please” will reduce the price to $3. If you are more friendly, “Hello, a small coffee please,” will get you your cup for only $1.75.
It seemed like it was just the poke that the customers needed to jump start their politeness because pretty soon, they got back to the groove and became friendlier and more polite towards the staff. Its seems that a very subtle nudge was what they needed after all. (ANGEL ONG)
