DA in talks with Mozambique on expanding agri ties
The Philippine government, throught the Department of Agriculture (DA), is now exploring possible partnership with Mozambique in terms of agriculture trade.
A statement showed that Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol recently met with officials of the Agricultural Research Institute of Mozambique (IAAM), who visited the former in his office in Quezon City.
During the meeting, Piñol presented the current programs of DA particularly on solar-power irrigation system, hybridization program, and rural credit program.
The group also visited the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in Los Baños to explore possible partnerships for the implementation of the Agricultural Productivity Program for Southern Africa (APPSA) project and for the Regional Center for Leadership for Rice (RCol), a project funded by the World Bank.
