Doug shares tips on prepping the perfect steak

If you follow Doug Kramer on Instagram, you might know that he makes one mean steak.

In a recent post, it seemed like he was ready to share his secret recipe with his followers. Or so they thought.

While the cager has yet to share his recipe, he was ready to share some tips about whipping up a steak worthy of praise.

According to Doug, to make sure that your steak grills perfectly, you have to make sure that it is the proper thickness straight off the bat. He also reminds his followers to make sure that they spice up their meat enough so that the flavors will permeate the meat. He also shares how long he grills the steak depending on whether he is using a charcoal or grill pan.

Ok…. So much have asked me what my recipe is for cooking steaks. I definitely won’t give that! Haha! What I will give though are some tips and spices that will make your steak worth it! . No. 1 on the list should be great meat on a good size, 1 inch thickness at least!! Typically I use US Angus, but today is extra special, I got A4 Wagyu Striploin from Japan, and it was delivered to my doorstep by @WagyuPhilippines! Believe me, it’s worth it! Follow and order from them now! ? . No. 2 is your spices, can’t go wrong with basic ingredients. You can try it with rock salt, lots of table grind black pepper, and don’t be shy to use a lot of it! Then some rosemary and a bit of olive oil on the pan. The fat on the steak will cook itself. Put the spices one by one, and do it on both sides of the steak. Leave to rest for maybe 10 mins marination. . Lastly, you can have great meat, spices, but if you don’t know how to cook it, it will be an expensive failure. I prefer charcoal grilling, but today it was easy with a grill pan. Heat up the pan sufficiently, until the pan is smoking hot! And then drop the marinated steak! Typically for a 1 inch steak, maybe about 1.5-2 mins on each side to achieve medium rare! Charred on the outside and medium rare on the inside. . With these simple ways, you can properly enjoy your premium cut steak! Hope you liked it! . @WagyuPhilippines for the win! Steak was gone in 60 secs! ???
