DA provides loan to farmers who intend to buy hauling trucks
The Department of Agriculture (DA) said farmers who are facing problems on how to transport their yield to the buying stations of the National Food Authority (NFA) have an option to borrow money from the government so they could buy their own hauling truck.
The loan, according to the agency, would only have a 2 percent interest and is payable for eight years.
“Ang pautang na ito ay walang kolateral at madaling makuha dahil ito ay tulong ng ating gobyerno sa mga magsasaka ng palay. [This loan doesn’t require collateral and could be easily accessed because this serves as government’s effort to help rice farmers],” Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said.
The DA is encouraging farmers to coordinate and reach out the office of DA and look for the loan officers affiliated to the Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC).
