Netizen shares DIY hack for making own pepper spray
With the price of chili now normalizing and the numbers of crimes against women rising dramatically, one clever netizen decided to share a useful hack for making one’s own self defense weapon.
Women are often advised to carry a can of pepper spray with them wherever they go as a deterrent for crime but these small canisters are often quite pricey.
In a post by Facebook user Mary Ferjel Babasa, she shared the step by step guide on how to make pepper spray using only chopped silinglabuyo, water and a spray bottle. Even recycled ones can prove to be useful.
According to Babasa, girls need to chop the chili finely and use a lot in order for the pepper spray to be effective. With the addition of water, they can prove to be the distraction that one needs to get away from the assailant because of its strong odor and sting, Babasa warned however, that there is a need to wash one’s hands thoroughly to make sure that one does not accidentally rub it into one’s eyes.
Thanks for the tip, Mary! (ANGEL ONG)
