SLAC holds grand rice festival in Nueva Ecija
SL Agritech Corp. (SLAC) has celebrated its Grand Harvest Festival in Nueva Ecija, showcasing the increase in rice productivity of farmers who planted its leading hybrid rice seed variety, SL-8H.
The said event aimed to uplift the morale of the farmers and encourage them to continue planting rice as the rice industry is faced with the implication of the recent passing of the Rice Tarrification Act.
It also wanted to promote the advocacy of SLAC’s Chairman and CEO, Henry Lim Bon Liong, to help and assist the Filipino farmers to increase their yield and income by adapting modern hybrid rice farming technology.
The highlight of the event is the launching of “Masaganang Ani 300 Award” and “Support Filipino Farmers” logos. It aims to recognize farmers who will harvest 300 cavans and more this coming cropping year using SL Agritech’s hybrid rice varieties.
They will then receive a trophy and cash prizes and will be awarded at Malacañang with President Rodrigro Roa Duterte. The former, on the other hand, aims to encourage our consumers to support Filipino Farmers by buying locally produce products.
