Netizen surprised to learn how much a lumpia vendor earns in a day
We often salute the hard work of simple food vendors that we pass by because it takes patience to stand out in the sun all day just to sell all of their merchandise.
One Facebook user Jomer Arañas decided one day to shoot the breeze with his suki, manong lumpia vendor. He was surprised to discover that there is great business in food business.
According to manong, he sells 600 pieces of lumpia per day at a price of 3 x P20. This means that manong takes home P4000 a day if he sells all of his lumpia. Jomer said that because the food was cheap and affordable, it takes very little time for Manong to sell out.
A lot of people on this thread commented though that before Jomer should think about switching careers, he must first consider removing the expenses from buying the ingredients. He must also factor in the hours of wrapping and frying the lumpia and then transporting the goods to his corner to sell.
The consensus was that Manong deserves his profits for providing a convenient viand for people who want his product but not the trouble that goes with it. (ANGEL ONG)
