PH to increase production of Pilipinas Agila Tires
The Department of Agriculture (DA) said there is now effort to increase the production of Pilipinas Agila Tires, a recently launched local brand of 300×17 motorcycle tire.
It was earlier this month when local rubber growers from North Cotabato City witnessed the formal launching of Pilipinas Agila Tires.
The Pilipinas Agila Tires is being produced by the Philippine Rubber Farmers Cooperative (PRFC), a group of Filipino rubber farmers that was organized by the DA two years ago.
Piñol said that after a steady market and demand is established, the group manufacturing the tires plans to eventually produce bigger tire sizes for multi-cabs and pick-up trucks in the near future.
“Let us take things slowly and surely. We must ensure that a constant and steady market is made before we explore other ventures,” Piñol said.
The tires will be showcased in motorcycle shops and gasoline stations around the province, and will be sold at a lower price compared to its competitors.
