Daily intake of milk tea can lead to diabetes, heart problems in the future, dietician warns
Bad news, milk tea fans! It seems that you may have to cut back on your guilty pleasure if you want to minimize your risk for Type 2 diabetes.
According to a report by GMA News’ 24 Oras, the recommended amount of milk tea per week is only one large serving and that making it a daily habit increases the risk for the disease.
Nutritionist and dietician Charmaine Manango, who was interviewed for the segment said that the calories and sugar in the milk tea is already high in itself that making a daily habit out of indulging in the drink could cause major long term repercussions.
Among the issues that the nutritionist cited were diabetes and possible heart problems in the future. (ANGEL ONG)
