Homeless Thai man doesn’t mind going hungry, so long as he feeds his cats
The internet is full of inspiring stories of kindness. You would think that a homeless man would be on the receiving end of that kindness but it might surprise you that he is the one spreading it.
A homeless man from Thailand has gained netizens’ attention because despite his dishevelled appearance and his lack of a permanent place to stay, he knows the meaning of responsibility. Instead of begging for alms, he sells limes everyday so that he may buy food to feed his beloved cats.
The homeless man identified as Loong Dum was discovered by the Cat and Kitten blog after his sign was spotted as saying: 20 baht per bag. Sales will go to cat’s food expenses. When he was asked whether he had to eat for himself, he simply said, “I’m fine if I go hungry but the cats need to eat.”
A lot of netizens were touched with Loong Dum’s story and reached out to him to help out with the cats. He continues to sell lime but looks more presentable nowadays after he was given a haircut and better clothes to help him sell better.
This just goes to say, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Rather, a person should be judged by his deeds. What an inspiring man. (ANGEL ONG)
