Netizens react to milk tea report: We don’t need this kind of negativity
Milk tea lovers have taken to twitter to react to GMA News’ recent feature on milk tea, advising patrons to refrain from excessive consumption of the beverage because of its high caloric and sugar content.
According to the report, the ideal portion of milk tea consumption is only one large serving per week, and that consumption on a daily basis can result in long term health problems like Type 2 diabetes and heart conditions.
On Twitter, netizens have banded together in defense of their favorite boba. They said that milk tea is their only reprieve from their daily problems and they don’t need advise on how to consume their drink. Some high profile netizens like Gideon V. Pena have led the pack in saying of the article: “We don’t need this kind of negativity in our lives.”

While his statement got a lot of attention and sparked some negative comments, he clarified that his statement was not intended to be taken seriously and that people who have a problem with it need to evaluate their own assessment of the issue. (ANGEL ONG)
