P2.3B of PRDP funds go to Caraga region
As much as P2.3 billion worth of World Bank-backed Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) funds will go to Caraga region, mostly to build farm-to-market roads (FMR).
A statement showed that Caraga now has P2.3 billion worth of upcoming project portfolio to be funded by PRDP, a project by Department of Agriculture (DA).
Caraga particularly has 31 IBUILD sub-projects worth P2,2 billion. These are divided into 21 FMRs with a combined length of 123 kilometer (km) worth P1.7 billion; two FMRs with bridge worth P317 million with 19 km length and 78 linear meter; three communal irrigation system covering 511 hectares worth P109 million; and five other infrastructure projects worth P49 million.
Out of 31, there are already 12 completed sub-projects worth P277.62 million in the province, while four sub-projects are already 50 percent and above progress. Nine, on the other hand, are still under less 50 percent progress amounting to P856.82 million. The rest are still on the approval process.
Meanwhile, Caraga’s enterprise portfolio covers 14 sub-projects amounting to P109.93 million.
