MWSS management transitions into new leadership this month
The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) may finally transition into new leadership this month after some delay.
In his previous plan, President Rodrigo Duterte said he wanted to replace MWSS Administrator Reynaldo Velasco with retired army general Ricardo Morales. This, as Velasco’s term was supposed to expire last June 30.
But, he decided to assigned Morales as the new Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) chief instead, allowing Velasco to serve further as MWSS Administrator as hold-over capacity.
An official from the MWSS said that MWSS Board of Trustees will have a board meeting before the end of this month and will finally usher in the anticipated management transition.
This time to welcome Lt. Gen. Emmanuel Salamat, chief of the military’s Northern Luzon Command (NolCom), as the next MWSS Adminstrator.
Salamat is set to retire as NolCom chief on July 15.
