Dar pursues AmCham to attract investment in PH agri
In line with the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) aim to build a strong partnership between the government and the private sector, DA secretary met with the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) to promote the “New Thinking” in Philippine Agriculture.
The campaign’s main objective is to attract business from the private sector to collaborate with local farmers and fisherfolk and help them become prosperous. According to the Agri chief, this can be done through the “Big brother-Small brother approach” where successful private businesses can serve as mentors.
“With this new thinking for Philippine agriculture, we can do much better if we bring our resources together,” Secretary Dar said.
He requested the members AmCham to come forward recognizing that many of them have shown interest to partner with the government.
“You, the big business sector in the AmCham, this is now the opportunity to come in,” Dar said.
