Father and son tandem makes mochi making an art form

Have you ever wondered how your favorite mochi is made? Well, we bet you never realized that it was this entertaining to watch mochi being made in absolute synchronicity and you can witness it for yourself when you visit Nakatindou, in Nara Japan.

The mocha is pounded in insane speeds using a wooden hammer alternated with hands by two shopkeepers and it looks like a scene from a Jackie Chan movie. They sell thousands of the delicious mochi everyday and have become an attraction in themselves.

Shopkeeper Mitsuo Nakatani and his son make the perfect father and son combo as they yummy mocha prepared the traditional way for everyone to enjoy. Make sure to include this in your travel itinerary on your next Japan visit. (ANGEL ONG)
