McDonald’s partners with Jose Mari Chan to celebrate Grandparents’ Day
With memes of balladeer Jose Mari Chan spreading all over social media with the start of the holiday season, one would think major brands would capitalize on his identity with the season to promote their holiday products.
Fastfood giant McDonalds’ seemed to be thinking of something different as it tapped the country’s premiere balladeer for his similarities to McDonald’s Philippines founder and Chairman George T. Yang to celebrate Grandparents’ Day.
In the video, the two joked over how much they looked alike and said that people could not tell them apart even if they traded jobs for a day. For the clip, the iconic singer opened with his hit song “Let’s Stop and Talk A While,” with Yang picking up singing duties in the middle of the song. They also showed Chan having fun performing duties normally reserved for the McDonald’s chief while Yang excitedly belted out Jose Mari Chan’s hits before an audience.
With the tagline, “We’re never too old to live our dreams,” Yang and Chan inspire grandparents like themselves to try new things and do what makes them happy.
We don’t know about you but this ad literally struck a chord in our hearts. Happy Grandparents’ Day!
