Erwan shares rice test to check if you are buying 100 percent local rice
After learning of the struggles of local rice farmers, consumers began advocating for a shift in buying behavior to support local products instead of imported ones.
As an influencer in the food industry, Erwan Heussaff also supports this advocacy but warned that consumers should also be aware that they are buying the right products. He posted a simple test that consumers can conduct to see if the rice they are buying is 100 percent local. The test also checks the freshness of the rice to see whether its been imported.
In a marketplace full of false advertisements, its always better to be safe than sorry.

If you live in the Philippines, you most probably eat rice. The country is currently experiencing lots of issues with this crop. Farmers are struggling because the prices have been dropping dramatically, partly due to all the imported rice coming in. Moreover, you are never sure if the rice you are buying is 100% Filipino and how fresh it is, if it’s been imported. I recently started working with @renucciriceph because they provide local farmers with the inputs needed, before buying back the wet Palay from them, straight at harvest, to then process it in an impressive drying and packing facility, in Leyte. So here is a little test you can do to check the quality of your rice at home! #thegoodricetest #thericeofthefilipinos
