Turkish agency distributes 30 horses to farmer associations in Apayao
The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), with assistance of the Department of Agriculture (DA), distributed 30 houses to some farmer associations in Apayao.
A statement showed that through DA’s Special Area of Agricultural Development (SAAD) program, TIKA was able to reach out to some farmers groups in the said province, including the Katablangan Indigenous Farmer’s Association and the Nanawatan Nabuangan Upland Developer Association.
Both received 12 mares and 3 stallions each. Prior to the delivery, the farmer-partners were trained by the SAAD program.
Aside from the awarding of horses, there were also five units of multi-tiller given to the Calaoan Livelihood Farmer’s Association, Nabuangan Region Livelihood Association, and Baren Farmer’s Association. Each association received 1, 1, and 3 units, respectively. This is all part of the SAAD program.
