ASF starts killing pigs in Malabon, Caloocan
The fatal hog disease African Swine Fever (ASF) is now out to kill pigs in Malabon City and Caloocan City.
A report in Business Mirror showed that the Philippines has recently notified the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) of the status of ASF outbreaks in the Philippines.
In its latest report, the Philippine government said there are now 24 unresolved ASF outbreaks in the country.
It was also revealed in the report that aside from new cases in Bulacan and Pampanga, some backyard farms in Malabon and Caloocan have also been infected by the virus.
The ASF is not known to harm humans but is fatal to hogs, the Business Mirror report further said.
