Chefs demoralized over SEAG food brouhaha?
While Pinoys are quick to blame the SEAG organizing committee for all the food complaints surfacing in the media, reporter Krizette Laureta Chu shared some information on the food issues being raised.
As opposed to popular opinion that the food ration was centralized, it turned out that the food rations were actually contracted to different food providers in different venues.
These include the hotels where the athletes were billeted for the Manila area. For Binan, ISR won the bid to cater the athletes’ food in the area.
For the Pampanga events, Chef Sau del Rosario’s Kulinarya Pampanga was tapped to feed the athletes participating in different events. The committee has also reportedly gave instructions about halal food to all caterers involved.
According to Chu, Pinoys should not simply blame all providers for the lapses of one so as not to demoralize the chefs who were doing their best to do the country proud.
