Seniors and PWDs have mass orientation for new jobs as service crew
If you are a resident of Manila, expect to see senior citizens working at your favorite fastfoods soon as part of Mayor Isko Moreno’s agreement with establishments to provide equal employment opportunities to the elderly.
McDonald’s recently held a mass orientation for its newly hired senior citizen crew members, as announced by the local Public Employment Service Office. The senior citizens and persons with disabilities who were employed have all been certified as fit to work by local chapters of their organization.
The new employees signed their contract of employment, opened their ATM accounts for their salary, and received their uniforms from their new employer.
The local PESO office also reported that the branch managers of McDonald’s have also received training on the handling of their senior crew members to ensure that they will be treated fairly. (ANGEL ONG)
