MinDA conducts orientation on int’l standards for organic farming
In support and promotion of organic farming, the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) continues to conduct its series of orientation on the international standards for organic farming.
MinDA Technical Working Group on Organic Rice Certification Program recently organized the fourth leg of Orientation on International Organic Standards in the Municipality of Molave, Zamboanga del Sur.
This activity was participated in by 233 organic farmers from the provinces of Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Zamboanga del Norte, and Zamboanga del Sur.
During the event, Councilor and Committee Chair on Agriculture Ricardo Golez of Molave said in his opening message that 5 percent of their local government unit’s (LGU) Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) will be allocated for organic agriculture programs and projects starting year 2020.
