Taal evacuee fills sari sari store shelf with relief goods
Batanguenos are well known for their good humor and even being displaced from their homes by the Taal ashfall was not going to let them stop having fun. From making a fashion show from the donated clothes to different pasttimes they developed in evacuation centers, they made overcoming a disaster seem like a breeze.
Most recently, a post has been growing viral when one of the evacuees posted on Facebook that the amount of relief goods they received from donors was already enough to fill the shelves of his sari sari store.
The post was met with mixed reactions from netizens. While some criticized Christian for making a business out of the donations he received, some people defended the young man for being enterprising.
Many thought that since he was able to receive the donations fairly, it was up to him what he wanted to do with the goods, especially if it helps him augment his income as his family recovers from their losses. Some residents in Batangas were already allowed to go back home after the Alert Level was lowered by authorities. (ANGEL ONG)
