Ippon Yari crew share glowing account of employers’ ‘malasakit’ amid COVID-19 ordeal
While some companies are unsure of how they could sustain their employees’ income as their businesses temporarily shut down, an employee of Japanese restaurant Ippon Yari, a relatively small franchise is sharing how lucky they are with their employer.
According to the employee, their boss made sure that they were given their pro rated 13 month bonus before the ECQ was in effect. They also provided cash assistance to employees in need.
They also provided rice allowance as well as groceries for employees in the staff houses who were unable to go home to their respective families. The stocks in the kitchen were also distributed among employees and the bosses even made sure that those who were living in the provinces were sent by shuttle.
The restaurant also gave sacks of rice to the local government of Calamba to add to the relief efforts being undertaken by local officials.
Call that morale boosting. Hoping for the best for this franchise. This is how you treat employees like family. (ANGEL ONG)
