Pork producers assure public of adequate supply
The Pork Producers Federation of the Philippines, Inc. (ProPork) assured the public that local producers are able to meet the demands of its consumers.
ProPork President Edwin Chen said local producers are cooperating with government agencies in charge of the country’s food resiliency in ensuring that there will be enough supply of pork products in the market.
“We understand that meat processors are having problems with logistics to receive the materials they need to produce their products,” he said. “We hope they can sort it out with the concerned agencies to help them out.”
But as far as local fresh meat is concerned, consumers do not need to panic, ProPork emphasized.
“We have more than enough supply. And we continue to work hard to make sure the Philippines has food resiliency and we as producers can put safe food on the tables of every Filipino,” Chen said.
