Tales of bayanihan in the time of COVID-19
An elderly couple from Malolos recemtly received attention after their daughter posted their compassionate act during the Luzon wide Enhanced Community Quarantine.
The couple was seen preparing packed meals for medical frontliners in Malolos. According to their daughter, she was very proud of her parents because despite their age and meager income, they were doing their best to help in this challenging situation.
“Nanay and tatay preparing food for our health workers in Malolos. They are old. They have a store in Malolos public market but is currently closed because of enhanced community quarantine. In short, wala silang source of income ngayon. But still they opted to help out and share what they have. I am just so proud of them,” she said.
Another story is that of the Beldia family in Quezon City. The family was seen packing rice in their living room and shared that they wanted to help by giving out 40 bags with two kilos of rice each.
In the post, they called on neighbors to come to their house if they wanted to have the rice because they were too embarrassed to go house to house to distribute because of their humble donation.
Its not the amount but the thought that matters. Bless your families Ma’ams and Sirs. There are truly angels among us. (ANGEL ONG)
