Twitter user computes how McDonald’s earns profits from affordable burgers
Twitter may be a hotbed for memes and complaints but Twitter users are also an interesting source of information at times.
For example, user FreedomSeeker recently did the math at how McDonalds can turn up huge profits from selling $2 burgers in their branches.
He posited that if the franchise makes $.18 per $2 burger, they can earn more simply by offering fries and coke to go with it and it instantly translates to another $1.32 in profit.
Its an interesting theory, which may be while crew members are always engaging in suggestive selling. (ANGEL ONG)
Think McDonald’s makes a profit selling you a $2 burger?
They don’t sell it this low to make a profit
They use it as a bait:
– They make 0.18$ on a $2 burger
– They make $1.32 MORE by offering you a coke and fries
Simply by offering you an upsell
