END OF AN ERA: 19-year old Forest House in Baguio City is closing down
The 19-year old cafe and restaurant Forest House is closing down, an end of an era for one of the best dining places in Baguio City.
“This is our last farewell,” Forest House said in its emotional Facebook post.
“Whether you dropped by for a cup of coffee or a feast with your family, we thank you for your support. We are glad that Forest House became a part of your dining experience. But unfortunately, an era comes to an end.
Forest House is closing its doors,” it added.
The restaurant didn’t cite the reason why it is closing down, but it is not the first dining place that will be closing down during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A lot of mid-tier businesses, mostly cafes and restaurants, in the country are now officially shutting down their operations after months of lockdown, which restricted people to go out and dine in outside their houses.
Forest House is known for its warm ambience as well as its great food and drinks.
“Forest House was a place to create memories. We were there holding the bouquet when you proposed to your fiancé. We set up the veranda for your wedding by the sunset. We were there to sing you Happy Birthday as
you came back year after year. We took care of your kids as they experienced their first Christmas by the fireplace,” Forest House said.
“We welcomed you back as you brought your friends over to share your experience. We heard your fun and laughter as it drowned the mellow background music. It was always a pleasure for us to have you come
back. We are grateful to have been of service to you,” it added.
Forest House has been awarded as”Philippines’ Best Restaurant” by Philippine Tatler.
